Postmates Pickup Launches Skip-the-Line Service at Coachella

AEG Presents and Postmates have inked an exclusive, multi-year partnership to power pickup service at April’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for food, beverages and festival merchandise. The new skip-the-line service is available through the festival’s mobile app and pickup for most orders will be available in a few minutes.

The agreement marks the first time AEG Presents will facilitate alcohol and merchandise for pickup, and the first time that Postmates Pickup is integrated into the festival app. Led by Brooke Michael Kain, chief digital officer at AEG Presents, Postmates Pickup will also be available at AEG properties including Stagecoach in Southern California, Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Ala., Electric Forest in Rothbury, Mich., Mo Pop Festival in Detroit and Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles.

Kain said Postmates Pickup shows that "technology plays an increasingly important role in improving the overall experience at music festivals," while Bastian Lehmann, co-founder and chief executive at Postmates says the deal enables "anyone to have anything on-demand."

Once orders are placed, attendees will receive a pickup time and text notification when the order is ready and AEG Presents plans to build commissary kitchens for Postmates orders to ensure shorter wait times.
