For Logan Johnson from Boise, Idaho, his American Idol audition spoke to a greater accomplishment. The 20-year-old is celebrating 8 months of sobriety with the support of his family.
"I know I have a lot to share with my music," he told the judges before delving into a heartfelt cover of Demi Lovato's "Sober," highlighted by Johnson's sugary sweet voice and acoustic guitar.
"When we get you good songs, and you just stand up there looking like you look and you deliver songs in that voice, these girls are going to lose their mind," Luke Bryan commented, before comparing the aspiring singer to Justin Timberlake.
The judges then brought in Johnson's whole family to hear their decision to unanimously send him to the Hollywood round, which led to an emotional moment for everyone involved. "You now have three more people on your support team," Lionel Richie encouraged the 20-year-old.
